I have some great news!

Great news item #1:
Based on solid and deep scientific research, we know what the best diet for us as humans to consume in order to live a longer, healthier life! The emergence over the last decade of thousands of scientific studies that clearly demonstrate that a whole food plant based diet is the best defense against chronic diseases that plague our country and put our loved ones in early graves. Just as it became clear in the early 60’s that smoking kills, the same pattern of scientific discovery is repeating itself with disease promoting foods. We know what foods harm us and what foods help us to thrive.

The overwhelming amount of scientific evidence indicates that the healthiest way to ensure a long, disease-free life is to consume a diet consisting primarily of whole, plant-based foods. An optimum nutrition plan should include an array of whole grains, beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits, and vegetables. The most nutrient dense foods include dark leafy green vegetables, such as kale and arugula, and berries, like blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries.

The same collection of studies showed that creating just a few specific goals (“I’ll eat a salad for lunch every day” instead of “I am going to try to eat healthier”) consistently have the best long term results. In addition to creating a few, simple goals, the analysis of the studies also indicate the vital importance of having a simple and specific road map to help you navigate to where you want to go.
